Part of the fun in visiting Little Rock is enjoying our world-renowned Southern cuisine—not without its share of guilt-inducing calories. Fortunately, you can indulge in whatever you like here because the city affords diverse and fun ways to feel the burn. Here are some of the many offerings available to you during your stay:

Cycling: One of the city’s claims to fame is its cycling amenities for cycling enthusiasts and everyday bike riders. Not only are there miles and miles of riverfront trails, but also mountain biking terrain and road lanes for those looking to seriously get after it. Cycling clubs even meet up—visitors welcome—on weekends to do group rides.

Try: Bobby’s Bike Hike for rentals (Downtown) or download the Little Rock Bikes app (iTunes).

Yoga: You can always take your yoga mat to one of our beautiful riverside parks, but if the weather has you heading indoors for a little warrior pose, there are several popular spots to check out.

Try: Yoga Studio of Little Rock (Downtown), Barefoot Studio (Riverdale), The Floating Lotus (Midtown), Big Rock Yoga and Arkansas Yoga Collective (West Little Rock)

Running: Our many trails, including the 24-mile Arkansas River Trail system, beckon avid runners and casual joggers alike. Whether the goal is to maintain a fitness regimen while on vacation, stay on top of your marathon training or simply take in the scenic views along the water, there’s no shortage of options. Don’t like to run alone? Join up with a local running club for companionship.

Visit ArkRRCA.com for a list of running clubs in the area.

Barre: These classes are popular with the ladies. Using a ballet bar and other props to complete specific moves, these classes deliver a total body workout that focuses on lifting, toning and burning the most stubborn parts of the body. Be prepared to sweat. Individual classes available for purchase; advance reservation required.

Try: Pure Barre (West Little Rock) and ZenStudio (The Heights & West Little Rock).

Spin: If renting a bike and cruising the scenic trails isn’t on your trip itinerary, it should be. However, sometimes Mother Nature interferes and a back-up plan becomes necessary. Fortunately, ZenStudio (with locations in The Heights and West Little Rock) offers a variety of spin classes throughout the day, some beginning as early as 5:30 a.m. or as late as 7 p.m.
